This cat's seen probably close to a million people during the time they've been playing their trusty little ukulele on Central Avenue, right across from the university in Albuquerque New Mexico. Always a sight for sore eyes, but, most especially a sight for exploring eyes! If you're hunting a cup of coffee in the 505, keep a lookout for this musical icon!
Rainbow Ukulele, an Urban Mural Photo

"...played a faithful tune to every story..."
What's coolest about this guy, to me, is that for what seems eons in New-Mexico-Time, everyone who's walked or bicycled or driven on Central, has seen this mural.
People on dates, coffee-shop walkers, visitors to what once was Marc's Guitars to get new strings, or people meeting at the Frontier Restaurant, have all passed one of the most memorable street-paintings in all of the Southwest.
Another thing. Most murals we see on Instagram are the size of buildings. You could be miles away and spot a color of a mural from over the city's horizon. This colorful ukulele player on Central Avenue, is humbly standing "people-sized," in an anassuming spot but in clear view of thousands of people driving past every day. Yet very few even notice him.
But it's his anonymity that I think is what makes his song sublime. This guy's seen it all, and happily played that eternal ukulele for everyone, in rain, sleet, or shine. Regardless of whether he was seen or recognized, liked disliked or even just left-out in the cold - This guy's played a faithful tune to everybody's story.
